Potomac River, North Branch, destined to be one of the best tail-water fisheries in the country and less than three hours from Washington, D.C. The river has surrounding cliffs and wilderness to gaze upon. The water faintly chalky lime green color matches the South Fork of the Snake, and here as well as there, you'll find cutthroat and browns. Both are tail-waters and superb fisheries, and floating them is the most effective way to get to the fish. At Pap's, a wonderful country store-cum-tackle shop at Barnum, the best selling products are for fishing. Species you will find are Brook, brown, cutthroat, rainbow. Your best angling methods are spin and fly-fishing.
