California City, CA is a must visit for animal lovers. The Desert Tortoise Natural Area is located here. This is a big preserve in the mojave desert where you can go down trails and observe tortoises among other animals and plant life. Great photo oppurtunities. Before you go out though stop nto the Coyote Cafe for a great breakfast or lunch. Then at the end of the day stay at the Silver Saddle Ranch and Club in California City. This hotel has a year round outdoor pool and barbeque.
