San Francisco, California

san-francisco

The city by the bay is surrounded by loads of charming small towns, go for a city getaway or a more laid-back vibe in Tiburon. San Francisco’s Chinatown is the largest outside of China, the authentic dim sum can be had without the long plane ride.  From Fisherman’s Wharf for seafood and Union Square for world-class shopping, be sure to book your hotel in advance as conventions often sell out hotels throughout the city. Check neighboring small towns within shouting distance of San Francisco to save considerably.

Los Angeles, California

los-angeles

It’s sprawling and has much smaller, lesser known cities within easy reach. Choose Westlake or Calabasas if you want to be close to very spendy Malibu or Santa Monica.  Stay in Riverside, a short freeway drive from downtown Los Angeles and Disneyland for a lot less than Los Angeles or Anaheim hotels. The City of Angels has something for everyone from hipsters to families, stay in smaller adjacent towns and save considerably on more well-known hotels located in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood or West Los Angeles.

Miami, Florida

New York City, New York
