Ninilchik, Alaska
Situated about somewhere between Soldotna and Homer on the Kenai Peninsula, is the community of Ninilchik. Ninilchik’s Russian traditions, incredible landscape and the best clamming on the Kenai Peninsula make it worth visiting the place. Old Ninilchik Village, which is engulfed on three sides by a curve in the Ninilchik River, is one of the most visited tourist spots here. The most stupendous structure in the old town is the Russian Orthodox Church, boasting a fantastic view of Cook Inlet from the corner of a ridge over the town. Despite the fact that there are quite a few sights to see, clamming is the primary attraction for many visitors, especially in spring.
