Apache Junction, Arizona
Apache Junction is a small city of about 38,000 residents located in Maricopa and Pinal Counties . The city is surrounded by two big mountains; the Goldfield Mountains (north) and the Superstition Mountains (east). One of the top tourist destinations in the area is the Goldfield Ghost Town where you can get some good hints on how the old ‘glorious’ days of the gold hunters used to look like. Another great place to visit is the Lost Dutchman State Park, about 5 miles north east of the Apache Junction. While in the area don’t forget to visit the Elvis Presley Memorial Chapel and the Superstition Mountain Museum. You can ideally combine holidays close to nature with low cost accommodation.
