Buckeye is located in Maricopa County, Arizona. Its population growth during the period 2000-2010 reached +678.3% (from 6,537 in 2000 to 50,786 people in 2010)! It was founded in 1888 after the completion of the Buckeye Canal in 1886. The two most interesting points of attraction in Buckeye: The Buckeye Hills Recreation Area and the Skyline Regional Park. The total size of the Skyline Regional Park is 8,700 acres and is located in the south part of the White Tank Mountains. It is an ideal destination for equestrians, hikers, and generally nature enthusiasts. There are 8 miles of trails in the Park and till the end of September 2016, the total length of trails will reach 17 miles. The entrance to the Park is free! Since Buckeye is 30 miles west of Phoenix, you will have plenty of options to choose in terms of discount hotels.
