Chinle is a small town that is located in Apache County, Arizona. Chinle is an Indian Navajo word that means ‘flow out’ and refers to the area where the water flows out of the Canyon de Shelly. This small town has a rather great historical significance. In 1864, the peace treaty between the US and the Navajo Indians was signed here, ending a very cruel war. The area surrounding Chinle is a historic Navajo land and the most popular natural landmark is the Canyon de Shelly National Monument. There are many hiking routes that can take you to spots with breathtaking views. Here, the natural beauty is combined with many historic and archaeological sites. White House Ruin (A.D 300 – 1300) is definitely worth the visit! In terms of budget accommodation, Red Roof Inn is one of the best low-cost motels in the area.
