Holbrook, Arizona
Holbrook is a small town in Navajo County, Arizona. A massive meteorite explosion happened ove Holbrook on the 19th of July 1912. The weight of the meteorite was more than 420 pounds, and the explosion was followed by a shower of more than 16,000 pieces that fell in a broad area in and around the town. Since then, hundreds of people visit the town every year hoping that will find a tiny meteorite fragment. It is worth mentioning that Holbrook is built on the famous Route 66. It is an excellent place to stop by and rest for a couple of hours or even stay a couple of days.
