Superior, Arizona

Superior is a small town, but very popular among movie producers, in Pinal County, Arizona. It is worth mentioning that quite a few scenes of various movies have been set in Superior, such as Eight Legged Freaks, The Prophecy, Alien Invasion Arizona, etc. The town is roughly 65 miles East of Phoenix and 100 miles north of Tucson. The most exciting attraction in Superior is the Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park; the Arizonian botanical garden (founded in 1925). There, in a vast 323-acre area, you will find a large and amazingly beautiful botanical collection. It is an ideal place to visit if you have kids and want to bring them closer to nature. Also, it is worth mentioning that there is also a lovely 1.5-mile walking trail. If you are looking for a quality budget accommodation nearby Superior then Holiday Inn Express & Suites Globe (25 miles East) seems like a very good option. It is a rather new discount hotel with very friendly staff and clean rooms. Also, the hotel has a pool and a jacuzzi.
