Calipatria, CA has several great photo oppurtunities. First there is the Sonny Bono National Wildlife Reserve, which is great for birdwatchers and animal lovers alike. Then there is the Salton Sea Mud Pots. Giant pits of naturally boiling mud. Plus there is Salvation Mountain. A hillside made out of adobe, straw and thousands of gallons of paint. You have to see it to believe it. The Calipatria Inn & Suites is a great hotel with an on-site restaurant, an outdoor pool, and its only 11 miles from Salvation Mountain.
