Castro Valley, California

Castro Valley is located in in Alameda County, California, that has a total population of 61,388. In spite of the huge number, the community was chosen by Money Magazine as one of the best places to live in 2010. It is also known for its Eichler homes, designed and built by Joseph Eichler between 1950 and 1974. These homes are a bit different because of the glass walls, post-and-beam construction, and open floorplans.
