Lebec, California
Lebec is located in the northeastern San Emigdio Mountains, southwest of Kern County. It was named after Peter Lebeck or Lebecque, who was killed by a grizzly bear during the 1800s. His remains were placed in an epitaph at Fort Tejon but years after, he was moved to a museum at Fort Tejon State Historic Park. Apart from its historical background, Lebec is also known because of the popular Pyramid Lake Recreation Area where you can take advantage of legions of activities which camping such as swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, and more. They also play a movie at night! Now if you do not want to sleep inside a tent, the place also offers decent hotels with hard-to-resist discounts.
