Midpines is located in Mariposa County in Northern California. Midpines is a perfect base for outdoor recreational activities. Roadway 140 out of Mariposa leads to Midpines Summit, where East Whitlock Road winds off through the former mining areas of Whitlock, Sherlock, and Colorado. The interstate then drops through the forested areas and knolls of Midpines in the course to the Merced River at Briceburg. A great part of the zone is Sierra National Forest or BLM land, has plenty of climbing trails and Forest Service streets. Bear Creek’s higher spans incorporate a few picturesque swimming spots. Visitors can also opt for kayaking or swimming in The Merced River.
