Palomar Mountain, California

Palomar Mountain is a mountain ridge in the Peninsular Ranges in northern San Diego County. The delightful backwoods and mountain knolls of Palomar Mountain State Park are in northern San Diego County, high on the west side of Palomar Mountain. Huge pine, fir and cedar trees adorn the recreation center giving a Sierra Nevada-like feel to the ambience. The park offers camping, trekking, and fishing (trout) in Doane Pond. The various point along the trail offer fantastic all-encompassing views of both, the sea and inland toward the desert, especially from Boucher Hill Summit.
