The mountain town of Ouray is nestled in a river valley at almost 8,000 feet, engulfed by the majestic snow-capped San Juan Mountains. Numerous waterfalls make the place a photographer’s delight. A short hike up to Box Canyon Falls, where the water falls 285 feet, is recommended. The ravines provide the perfect setting for an immensely popular winter activity: ice climbing. Each year in January, several travelers visit to attend Ouray Ice Festival at the Ouray Ice Park.
