Clarkston is a small city located in DeKalb County, Georgia. What makes this small city attractive is its broad ethnic diversity. For this, it is also known as the “the most diverse square mile in the US.” The most interesting nearby natural attractions include Pine Lake (4 miles southeast) and Stone Mountain Park (5.1 miles east). Pine Lake is ideal for walking, biking, and swimming. Stone Mountain Park is not only popular for its impressive rock formation, but also for the largest bas-relief in the world on its north side depicting three important Civil War figures; Jefferson Davis, Robert Lee, and Stonewall Jackson. There are quite a few good the wider area close to Clarkston. A good option is the La Quinta Inn Atlanta Duluth (18 miles northeast).
