Waynesboro, Georgia
Waynesboro is a small city and the county seat of Burke County, Georgia. It has a strong historical identity because it was one of the first eight original counties that were founded in 1777 and the epicenter of the fierce Battle of Waynesboro (4th of December, 1864). The cultural and historical heritage of the glam Victorian era is evident in many parts of Waynesboro and mainly depicted on the beautiful and well-maintained Courthouse and many Victorian and antebellum mansions. It is worth mentioning that Waynesboro offers plenty of great hunting and fishing spots; no wonder why it is also known as the ‘bird dog capital of the world.’
