Abilene, Kansas

Abilene, known as the Queen of the Cowtowns, is the largest city of Dickinson County. Located on the north bank of the Smoky Hill River, is about 95 miles west of Topeka. While visiting Abilene, the Five Star Museum District is surely must-go-to. Another attraction is the 10-mile excursion train ride that takes you across the Smoky Hill River Valley. For theater lovers, the Great Plains Theater is the only professional theater between Kansas City and Denver.
