West Monroe was established in 1883 and is home of Joseph Biedenham, first bottler of Coca-Cola. So, while in the area, tour his elegant home and walk through beautiful Elsong Gardens and its terraces, fountains and statutes. Explore extensive collection of Bibles, inculding a Gutenberg leaf, in the Bible Museum, adjacent to the home. Counter to hear the tale of Coca-Cola’ bottling beginnings and walk among wonderful collection of artifacts in the Coca-Cola museum. Stop by the West Monroe Farmer’s Market if you want to “taste” North Lousiana. If you are with kids, visit Excalibur Family Fun Center and Northeast Lousiana Children’s Museum.
