Hancock, MD, is situated on the Potomac River. Less than 2 hours from Baltimore and Washington DC, this charming small town runs at a relaxed pace. The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal and the Western Maryland Rail Train are both magnificent places for a hike or cycle with friends and family. Fort Frederick State Park, an interesting historical reminder, was Maryland’s first line of defense during the French and Indian War.
