International Falls is a city in Koochiching County of Minnesota. If you enjoy the cold this is the place for you with the city often referred to as the “Icebox of the Nation”. Start the tour at Voyageurs National Park with guided tours, walking trails and nature related activities at the nearby Rainy Lake Visitor’s Center. While at the park, walk through turn of the century abandoned gold mines for a fascinating experience. A visit to the Koochiching Country Historical Museum is a must as is the city beach located just 3 miles east of International Falls. Take Remote Area Border Crossing and drive over the International Bridge to visit Fort Ontario in Canada.
