Owatonna is a city in Steele County, Minnesota. The first stop for a tourist should be the National Farmer’s Bank, a building finished in 1908. It has gold leaf arches, stained glass windows and baroque art designs all in original condition. The Kaplan’s Woods Parkway has over 6 miles of hiking and cross country trails and includes a beautiful 35 acre Lake Kohlmler. Visit Riversprings, a public water park with tube slides and an activity pool. For children, the RAD Zoo (Reptile Amphibian Discovery Zoo) is a must see place. For a taste of history, don’t forget the Village Of Yesteryear, a series of sixteen structures replicating landmark buildings in Owatonna and Steele County.
