Boulder City came into existence in the year 1931 when houses were required for workers who were to build the Hoover Dam on the Colorado River. Due to its close proximity to the Hoover Dam, Boulder City witnesses a lot of tourist activity and is home to several other places of interest such as the Hoover Dam Museum, Lake Mead, Nevada Southern Railroad Museum, Alan Bible Botanical Garden and the Bootleg Canyon Mountain Bike Park among others. Boulder City is considered as one of the best places to live a retired life in the whole of the United States, all thanks to the kind of atmosphere it provides.
