Elko, Nevada
Situated on the Humboldt River in the Elko County, Nevada, the city of Elko is commonly known as the “Heart of Northeast Nevada”. The city is known for its gold mining activities and apart from that is known for tourist as well as ranching activities. People visit Elko for a lot of reasons and one of the main reasons is to see the large number of gold mining camps that have been abandoned. Elko is home to a number of places of interest such as the Ruby Mountains, which houses the famous Lamoille Canyon and the Jarbidge Wilderness, which is one of the cleanest wilderness regions in the whole of the United States.
