A borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Neptune City was incorporated in the year 1881 and its boundaries once included what is now Avon-by-the-Sea. Avon-by-the-Sea was later on created as a borough in 1900. Neptune City was named after Neptune, the Roman water deity and also because of its location on the Atlantic Ocean. Although Neptune City has many attractions but the one that attracts most of the tourists, is its beach. You can have a great time at Neptune City if you like water sports and white sand beaches.
