New Town is a city situated in the Mountrail County, North Dakota and was formed in the year 1950 as a resettlement site for the residents of two towns that were planned to be flooded with the formation of Lake Sakakawea. New Town is a great place for outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, water skiing and boating. New Town is home to the famous Crow Flies High Butte Historic Site, the Four Bears Park, the Three Tribes Museum and the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation among many more similar historic places.
